Do all capacitors help stiffen the voltage? Just curiouse.

We'll, I've had good luck with both. But I'm going to have a hard time finding a H.O. alternator that's over 170amps for my car. The amp for my subs takes 200 alone. Plus deck, lights, heater, etc.

Weel, speaking from experience, the chances of you using all of that amp on a continuous basis is pretty slim. I put a 165A in my Civic, along with the rest of my system, and it works fine. You will need a battery upgrade, and be sure to do your wiring under the hood also.
In answer to your question, "yes". All capacitors will "stiffen" the power supply, to a certain extent, but what you are asking about? I have yet to see any proof that they do all they say they will. They do not HURT, as some people believe, they are not an additional "load" as some people believe, but they are NOT the magic bullet. Start with your alternator - cram as big as you can get under your hood, upgrade the wiring, and battery, THEN if necessary, (it still will not fix all of the issues) add a cap.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yea, I was jw. I'm gonna start with the wiring, add two batteries in the trunk, and run the old alternator 'till it burns up :D. I love doing that. 65 amps won't last long under 200+ amp load :P. Thanks guys.

Still havent gotten an answer on what vehilce, and what amps to get yrou 200 amp load.        We are currently running a kicker kx1200 and at shows we have ran 2 of them.     We run them ina 98 civic and we have ran it on the factory alternator.    No domming lights, no capacitor, so what is it?       We are running a kenetik hc1800 battery,    It has a burp discharge of 1800 amps   and a duty rationg of over 100 amps.     We can leave the vehicle 3/4 volume with the car off and it will play for 2 hours and not drop below 12.4 volts.
Kenetik batterys kick butt.    you could look into one of them, They work even better in use with a High amp Alt.     But will work good stand alone
