? for those who have a HO alternator

I've got to take the next step to stabilizing my audio and video and have a couple questions for those that have experience with the HO alternators. I have found 3 distributors with alternators for my car. All 3 say they are direct bolt on and should be a simple swap. I've read about the Iraggi alternators on this site and have heard nothing but good things. THese other 2 companies I could not find anything on, but were both VERY helpful with any and all questions.

Wrangler NW-had the lowest output of the 3 by 10 amps. But also was the cheapest. A hair over $300

Ohiogen.com-Believe it or not could not give me a price because you have to be an authorized shop. He sais all I needed to do was have a local shop call in and then he could get us a price. If any of you dealers on here get a chance, could you get a quote from them. The part # is 13886-160 and the phone number is 330-875-6677. Real helpful again, with a slight more output than the above.

Iraggi-For $400 180/90 amp idle

My last question is, the Wrangler NW guy says they require you to re-do the wiring to the alternator with no less than 4 gauge. He said they actually recommend 1/0 in parallel with the battery for maximum output and warranty. So I was curious how many of you have re-done the wiring to the alternator and what type/size of wire you used. He was saying they make a kit for $100 which I feel is very high although he said its a high current/super flexible wire that is expensive obviously. I don't see why you couldn't just use normal wire for a lot cheaper. So anyone with specifics on what they used and for how much I'd appreciate it. And like I said, anyone that is a dealer, I'd like to get a price from the Ohiogen people on theirs. So opinions on all these vendors would be great. thanks again...

I redid all my wiring with 4awg since the stock was only 8awg, my old HO ALT was made locally for me, but in the past Ive had a Iraggi one for my old toyota, and I loved it it never gave me any problems and was a direct replacement for the OEM one

IF you choose Iraggi, you wont be dissapointed

You should listen to them on the wire ga size...  Run 1/0ga but it doesnt have to be ultra high quality stuff.  Go to any local welding shop and they will have 1/0ga wire for relatively cheap 1 - 2 dollars/ft as opposed to most shop's 5 - 6 dollars/ft.

WWW.HOALTERNATORS.COM  I have 190amp direct bolt on for my '90 4runner, and I gotta tell ya, I LOVE IT!!!  When cold it will charge both batteries to 15v and when hot the voltage is at a solid 14.4-14.7v.... ....at the rear amplifiers and battery!
