is will work if i hook a neon tube to a dome light connections?

Yes, it can work ...I suggest using a relay and a separate fused power source at the battery for the neon tube.

I installed two neons by removing my dome lamp, and just splicing into the wires that power the dome lamp. That way, when I open my car door, my neon lights come on.

yeah... but neons have different draw than the little bulbs. use a relay. run a heavier wire than the factory - its usually too small even for teh little dome lamp - doors open, triggers relay, relay makes circuit for neons.
its a spiffy thing.

this is true. When I first wired my underbody kit to the dome light, I didn't use a relay. I wired straight to the dome light, and it worked, but after a while, the passenger tube only lit up half way, and the rest weren't as bright. Use a relay.
