i have a 00 civic but im not sure if it has power with the car off. if you had a car charger that would be a easy way to check

another place you could run your remote wire from is the red (switch) wire on the back of your radio

i dont think it ill the cigarette lighter will power with the car off but be sure not to hook up your remote wire to any constant because it will just drain your battery
