I am installing an alarm onto my 2003 Kia Sorento.  The door switch turns on the dome light and when the doors are closed the light stays on for about 30 seconds.

If I connect the  negative door switch to the alarm system it goes of f as soon as you activate it until the light goes out.

How do you isolate the alarm from the dome light?

I tried that , but it's not like any door switch I've seen before.  There are 3 wires connected to it, and it appears to have 12v on at least one if not two of the wires.

If you want to grab the yellow door pin wire behind the instrument cluster that one has no delay.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.2003 Kia door switch -- posted image.

Thanks for the idea.  I was beginning to think that there should be a connection there since the open door indicator is there.

if you don not want to go to each door get the door indicator at the cluster like thepencil wrote.
