I think this question may be easy for you guys considering some of the harder questions I've seen.

I have a stock alarm in my 2000 Dodge Durango R/T. The factory honk is great when arming, but I wanted to added a little visual 'detterent'  when the vehicle is armed. I wired a set of red strobes(located in the parking light assembly) to a wire I located with a multimeter in a wiring harness located behind the glove box. Everything seemed to work great. The wire in question has 12 v on it when I arm the system (and locks the doors), and doesn't when I disarm the system!

Problem: After a visit with a very nice police officer, I realized when my doors locked at 15 KPH, it also turned on my strobes!

How can I get a 12 v supply ONLY when the vehicle is armed?

Thanks everyone!

I don't think you will find any type of status output from the factory alarm. Also you probably shouldn't use any type of strobe lights if you want to be able to start your truck the next morning.
