what is basic wiring for linear actuator?

I am new with using linear actuators, but have a decent amount of wiring knowledge. I want to simply make a screen go from flat to about a 60 degree angle. I know I need an actuator (will make measurements for size later), but now sure exactly how it is wired to a switch to open AND close. Any suggestions? Thanks

You need to measure the distance from the resting point ( flat ) and the extended point ( 60 degree ) and find an actuator that will meet this distance. You will need to add limit switches on both start and stop positions and wire it into a switch or remote control ( if you want ). Most actuator's will come with instructions on how to use the actuator's in different scenarios.Jeff

so I need to measure the red area? do you know how the linear actuator itself is wired to the switch ( http://www.firgelliauto.com/product_info.php?cPath=70&products_id=20) or the limit switches?

You will need to change the orentation of the actuator that you have shown in your diagaram unless one of your connecting points is not fixed. Looking at what you drew, both of your connecting points for the actuator are fixed and do not move in relation to the screen. If that is the case then your actuator will not be able to function.
