Hi guys, I have a 1997 Crown Vic Police interceptor and the floor and the trunk aren't carpeted. I've been wanting to carpet it but I don't know what to do.

My idea was to get some sheets of rubber 1/4"-1/8" thick and heat form it to the floor then glue the carpet to the carpet. then to finish it off by screwing it down in a couple of places.  I don't want to just glue it straight on to the metal in case I need to remove it for something.

Has anybody tackled this task before? Any thoughts or ideas? thanks

u dont want to mess with shaping your own carpet...ive heard a few other guys try it out and its not worth doing if u can get prefabbed carpet.  They also say though that with the prefabbed u should let it sit in the sun for a few hours so its a bit more pliable and will fit that much more snug otherwise it could still not sit flush in a few spots.
