I am interested in intstalling either an omega max w/ remote start or a Crime Stopper super rage 2011rs series II system on my 2000 ford taurus.  Do I have to buy a seperate module to bypass the PATS system on my car or will these units do it automatically?  Does anyone have advice on a better alarm/remote starters for around $100?

I have never had any luck with the FORD keyless bypasses for some reason.

I always use a blank non cut key and a 556u or Pass4.  Works perfectly every time.

just get you a cheap ford key off ebay with the chip in it. take the key and get it cut. cut the top off the new key and attach it to the steering column. you will have to work with it a bit to get it just right.  Iknow its not the best way but its the easiest

That leaves the Pats system disabled.  Get a key and program it yourself.  Do not get it cut.  Programming instructions are in your owners manual on how to add new keys.  Throw the key in a 556u and hook up transponder ring.   Connect power, ground, and bypass wire and you are good to go and it keeps the PATS enabled.  IT IS ALSO NOT GHETTO!
