Is there any way to convert 12v neons to work off of single or multiple 9v DC outputs?

I'm pretty sure this will work: You could use two 9v batteries wired in series then use a resistor to reduce the voltage from 18v down to 12v.

How about one 9v and 2 AA batteries in series.

+9-+AA-+AA-=12v

9x4=36

12x3=36

so you could run three 12v neons in series off of four 9v outputs in series.

What else runs on 9 volts that you would conect neons to?

You could use a DC to DC Converter to do this.

I play electric violin, and I want to run neons underneath my pedalboard, which runs on 9v dc.
