I am planning on hooking up strobes to my alarm so when my alarm goes off the strobes will too. I am also hooking up a switch to turn the strobes on whenever I would want. I made a digram and I plan on using a diode. I don't know much about diode and plan on just going to radio shack to pick one up. Which one do I ask for that will work in the digram that I used?

a 1 amp diode should do the trick.
