I was wondering if i am putting 5.1 channel audio in my car, for the center channel can i put the speaker on the headliner near the winshield, instead of on the dash.  My dash is limited on space and i have other stuff in the way.  The distance between the headliner and the drivers seat is like the same as if it were on the dash.  The car is pretty laid back, its a 94 camaro.  Would it sound the good or would it mess up my imaging?  Thanks

It should sound alright, I would try it both ways and any other way you can think of to be sure though.

Also try pointing the speaker towards the windshield (and reversing the polarity.)  Sometimes in a rear-view mirror type mounting that works best.
