Hello all,

I have a problem and I am at wits end and thought to turn to you all for help. I have a 04 Ford Freestar with a Viper 550ESP using the 555U for remote start. The problem I am having is, the remote start will not work. The vehicle will turn the accessories on and I can hear what sounds like the fuel pump turning on, but the PATS light on the dash goes out then starts blinking rapidly until the brake is depressed. I have checked the wiring and solder joints on the 555U and alarm and everything is good. I can take the 555U out reinstall and it will still not start. I have never seen a 555U "go bad" so I am leaning towards the cable and ring around the key cylinder. If I place a key even the key inside the 555U in the ignition, the remote start works purfectly fine, but we all know that can't stay like that, lol. I have wired the the alarm and 555U to directed standards using techsoft, does any one have experience with this vehicle? Am I possibly overlooking a step on either of the wirings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

typing out of frustration the 555U should be a 556U. actually a 556U.

i would make sure your ground out when running that activates your bypass is actually working

this is just a low current transistor output and sometimes the circuit is damaged easily from the brain

you can meter the wires at the input of your bypass to check for power and ground when trying a remote start session

and to even troubleshoot a littlbe bit farther just put power and ground on your input wires to your bypass and try a remote start and see if that works

if it's not a power issue it's gotta be the ring around the cylinder and it seems as if they're placemnet around the ign. switch is picky sometimes on FORDS
