Extra LEDs added to alarm,pls help me

does anyone know how to install more leds to an alarm, what is the wire that i have to hook the leds up to??Alan Nardiello

what kind of alrm do you have? it makes a difference because on some alarms you cannot add additional l.e.d lights.Ruben

You must use the aux armed output on your alarm (if it has one) you can run that that to a relay that runs additional leds, these leds must be 12 volts and must be self flashing, If you need these in detail please let me know...

what you can do is take the LED harness and add a another 12v power to the pos. side with a 1.5K resistor. works everytime if you do it right.

If you are using 2volt leds then you could add them in series with the original led. Depeding on the alarm you could probably add 3-5 leds. Using a relay and flashing leds is no good as it the leds would not indicate status info. Plus the relay would be on and would drain the battery quickly. You could add the leds in parallel but if you exceed the alarms led current output, you could burn it out. The worst that could happen when adding in series is that after so many leds, they will not light up but it won't damage the output.Karl
