Good Morning everyone

I am trying to install my Soundstream Amp in my 05 Jetta (this is the new model) and the factory amp has to be disconnected or by passed. I was at BestBuy for 6 hours yesterday with 2 of the installers and after wiring everything we came accross this problem.

Does anyone know where the factory amp is located on the new jetta?

the factory amplifier is located under the passenger side rear deck w/ a black steel cover protecting it and slots for heat escape that's if it has the monsoon system

are you keeping the factory head unit??

are you amplifying your fronts and rears??

or just adding a sub and amp??

THanks for the help. The amp is actually located under the drivers seat. I added a SoundStream 305 with a JL Audio 10 sub. I also hooked up all the speakers to the amp.

I was going to change the head unit but saw a post from someone who did it in indiana. It lost so much of the look! He installed a JVC pullout and mounted a selfmade kit for the new head unit since there are none available at this time. I wanted to change my stereo because I have Sirius but the car came with XM. The dealer can not confirm when they will be able to change the radio for me, so I was going to install my 6 month old Kenwood head unit. Needless to say, I am glad I didnt. I will wait until they can come out with a kit that wont make the inside of the car loose the look.

Thanks for your help and if anyone needs help installing a system into there new Jetta 05, let me know.
