Did an alarm install and disconnected power apparently going the the factory stereo.  Now it is asking for a Pin Code for it to work.   Customer doesn't know what the pin is.   Any way around this or is there a backdoor code?

Ask the customer to go back to the dealer and they will have the VIN of the vehicle checked out and then Honda can give them the proper code for this. This will take about 2 days , had this happen to a friends Honda and it wasn't a problem.

To get the radio code.  Pull out your radio and get the code off the back of the radio.  Then call the dealer.  They can give u the access code.  If u do not know how to pull out the radio.  This is how.

1.  Remove the panel witht the cigerate liter on it.  ( Its under the Radio)

2.  There are 4 brass screws.  Remove those.  ( Mine where really tight so u might need to use a wrench to get them off. )

3.  The whole radio, AC control unit will come out.  It is just  snapped in there from that point.  There are alot of wires back there.  SO make sure u unplug them all.  Really easy to do.

If u need more info.  Email me

The dealer wanted to charge her $90 bucks to get the code.   I think they should have provided the code when she bought the car.   What kind of worthless crap radios is Honda using??   Anytime you disconnect the battery or something like that,  the radio becomes useless?

Guess I'll try pulling the radio myself and getting the serial number.  Maybe I can find a more cooperative dealer.

The dealer is trying to make money off the customer as this process does not cost them anything except a couple of minutes on the phone. The Honda dealership that is in our area did not charge my friend and $ 90 US for giving them a code !!! How do they sleep at night !!Enable code for 2000 Civic Radio -- posted image.
