Some of you might remember the post I made a week ago about getting a JBL GTQ 360 at a flea market for $20. Well after a week of working on it I got it installed and working today.
Except for one big problem, there is a very loud static noise that can be heard over the music, and is constantly on when the amp is on. Every 10 secodns or so there is a thump noise as well.
The wiring and everything is exactly the same as it was on my previous amp (a Power Acoistik), there was never a noise with that amp so I know its not the RCA or speaker wire picking up noise.
I think either something in the amp is screwed up, or it could be becasue im using regular screws for the wire terminals. They are regular machine screws from a hardware store, not gold or copper plated or anything. Could these be causing the noise?

No, the screws won't cause that problem.  Sounds liike the reason it was at the flea market is because it's shot.  Sorry.
