I'm thinking of adding satellite radio to my truck, a 2001 Chevy Suburban (with OnStar, without Bose). I'm not sure if I should go with an add-on to the factory radio or replace with a satellite-ready in-dash CD receiver. I want a clean installation (without cigarette-lighter plugs dangling) and good sound quality. I recently upgraded the 4 door speakers to Infinity 6002Si's (sound great!).

The factory CD receiver has a separate factory cassette player connected to it. Can I remove that and use those inputs for a hard-wired custom mounted satellite radio? I have heard sound quality with the wireless FM modulator interface is not so good. Don't care about moving satellite receiver to the house, have Internet radio there (Roku Soundbridge).

Or, if I replace the whole receiver (was thinking of the din-and-a-half Pioneer) with a satellite ready receiver, will it work with an OnStar adapter also? What about an antenna? Will I have any trouble connecting the 9 factory speakers and sub?

Any comments on XM vs. Sirius? I'm leaning toward XM right now based on feedback from a few friends that have it...mainly don't know anyone that has Sirius, so comments welcome.

Sorry so many questions, but need a starting point.
