My friend has a '97 accord se. I just installed the head unit, components in the doors, and rear deck speakers. We are running them all off of the head unit for now. This weekend I plan to install the amps. I was wondering if you guys know of any open grommets on the firewall in which to pass the power wire through? I looked every where I could see & didn't see anything. I guess I figured someone might know of one hidden somewhere. If there are no unused grommets. Where did you guys run yours through?

Also, when I hooked up the h/u. It seems as though the constant power source for the factory h/u is only carrying 4.3v. Is this normal? I ended up just finding another 12v constant (from the hazard swith) to use. I was figuring maybe because he has a flashing LED in the factory h/u that the voltage was reduced for that reason. I also tested the constant for the clock, and it is also only reading 4.3v. It just seems weird to me. I have installed many stereos in many different types of cars, and have never run accross this problem. Just so you know...I did check the fuses.

Hey I think its the yellow wire/or red on is constant and the other is switched.(i think) As for the goin tru the fire wall theres a hole on the drivers side, around the master cylinder, under the hood. I have a 98 Accord Ive also done a 95, 96, and a97 and all off them read 12volts.   Does the car start? run? if so check your meter.

As for the 4.3V on the constant power wire, it sounds like a PARTIALLY blown fuse, which might not LOOK blown.  It should be the Memory/Back-Up fuse in the fuse box under the hood---usually 7.5 amp (dark orange) on a Honda.'97 Honda Accord Install Questions? - Last Post -- posted image.

Cool I appreciate the input. I'll check the fuse just in case. It seems that every thing is working fine now. I did find a hole to pass the power wire through. I just used the same hole as the A/C drainage tube on the pass side. We only used 8awg wire, so it didn't interfere with it's drainage.
