Does anyone know who makes an Ipod interface for the new 05-06 mercedes benz's?

JL's " clean Sweep " has an aux input.

Yeah, and good luck integrating that clean sweep with the fiber optic audio in those vehicles. You will not find anyone that has anything for 05' and newer Mercedes.

The Clean Sweep is not the miracle solve all problems every one thinks it is.

I've done more then one. You don't mess with the fiber optics, you use the speaker leads after the stock amp.

Many of our dealers have successfully used Cleansweep with Mercedes Benz fiber optic systems, just like tcss stated. You grab the amp outputs (sum them if crossed over) and put them into the CleanSweep.... works great.

What is the best way to sum the signals together after the amp. I know how we do it around here, but just wanting to know what you guys do to accomplish that, maybe there is a better way then what we do.

Best way to sum is with a device like the AudioControl LC-6, because it gives you individual gains for each band. You simply Y-connect the outputs together to sum the signals.

You can also use conventional LOC's, preferably with level attenuator pots.

For which vehicles is the solution available?

The iPod Integration Kit for Mercedes-Benz is now available for the redesigned 2006 M-Class SUV, C-Class (MY05 and newer), CLK-Class (MY05 and newer), E-Class (MY04 and newer), CLS-Class (MY06), and SLK-Class (MY05 and newer; vehicles equipped with COMAND [c**kpit Management and Data system] system only). Upon vehicle introduction, the solution will be available for the new 2006 R-Class.

So, I hope that helps.

There is also another independent company that makes factory adapters- in fact, they make one for older optical-equipped Mercedes, such as the 2001 SL500. However, the adapter was about $449, which sounds about the same as if you were to get the changer for the vehicle dealer cost from MB parts.
