I am putting some Alpine Type-R 6 1/2s in the rear deck of my car, but I hated the old way the speakers were mounted, so I made a new fiberglass mount for them.
They mount to it, and then I am going to have the grill that came with them on each, but it does not cover much of the speaker.
My question is will the sun quickly kill these speakers because they will be exposed all the time and the car will be parked (unfortunately) outside all day.
If this is a problem, I guess I could get a different grill, but I want something that looks good still and easy to remove if necessary, hence the reason I replaced in the first place.

My back window is already tinted, which was a partial factor in deciding to do this.  I guess if they go bad real quick, I will be sad and buy another pair and use a different setup.

Of course, other suggestions that would prevent the problem would be best!

I dont think you should have a problem. The Alpine Type R speaker have rubber surrounds so they should be ok if they are in the sun most of the day.

Well that's what I wanted to hear.  I guess I will just put them in and see what happens.  Thanks for the help.
