I'm putting my car alpine cd/mp3 player in my boat, the mounting area for the indash is slanted back about 30 degrees. Do I need to make it level or will it work OK at an angle?
Thanks!

It SHOULD work ok.  The only thing I can think that might create a problem is the CD transport mechanism, and then it may only shorten the lifetime... or it may not matter at all.

it all depends on the unit itself.  Some will work fine, some will give you problems.

Doesn't the spec sheet on most name brand HU's tell you the max angle they can be mounted at or something like that?

You should be ok. Some radios can be picky about that but 9 time out of 10 you should be fine.
