1998 Toyota Sienna

I have not seen a pre-99 sienna with a transponder yet - I do lots of Toyota work.

If the key is over 3/8" thick, it has a chip. or ask customer if their valet key is plastic or metal - transponder valet is gray plastic, other valet is solid metal

I see that you have done several toyota sienna work. I am wondering if I can ask you some question? I have toyota sienna 2002, I have the pro. installed the remote starter a few day ago and now I am havig trouble when I start the car the oem alarm going off. If I disarm the alarm before start my car then it is ok, I talked to my installer and he told me that he already hooked wire to the oem alarm disable already and that took care of it. I use the crime stopper unit which FM2009, also I wanted the slide doors to work also which he has not done yet. Please give me some help if you could, I am so frustrated with this issue that has accur... thanks

I don't think CrimeStopper has FM2009 model.

Most alarm systems, if wired correctly, the remote start should disarm the factory alarm and rearm it once the car is started.  There might be something wrong.  It does not make sense that you have to fix it since the "pro" installed it for you.  Have the "pro" finish the job s/he started.
