I have a 92 SHO I am started to build my system for it. I want to keep it looking stock so no one will try to mess with it. So here is my idea...

The air bag is bad on the passenger side so I have taken it out. I want to put on of my monitors behind it and make the airbag cover the door...

I know how to build most of it but I need help with the hinge. I want to make it so it will flip up and stay up. I have thought about cabinet hinges but they are too big. I want to make it so when you press on the cover a little it will flip up and then you just press it down again to close it. I have an old ashtray out of one of my old cars that works like that but it doesn't travel far enough. Does anyone know what I can use to open and close this? Thank you in advance.

If you putting a monitor in there, why dont you put the monitor on a slide with an actuator at the bottom. Then when the monitor comes up it just pushes the flap up and stays open till you let it come back down?

That would be cool but I kinda like the hinge idea it should be cheaper. I was even thinking maybe a motor to turn it.

U can use retractable car antennas; they are a whole lot cheaper than actuators.
