Blown Amp or Mid/Tweets?

I am just in the half way point of reinstalling all my stereo back into my car and have the Mids/Tweets mounted in my doors and wired fine. I install the amp and crossovers and now I get NO Mid at all, and the tweet is so weak of sound I would need to crank up the volume to get output and when I do put it even over 15 on mu Alpine deck it distorts. Is this a component issue or the Amp? I tried the speakers without the crossovers and still same issue. No MID at all and tweet is crazy soft. These are top of the line MB Quart Q's and should be great. My McIntosh 2 X 110 W amp is powering them. This amp has a Power guard feature and I have very rarely seen this light come on and when I did it was on my other McIntosh amp when the BASS was kicking!!! Now once these components are running the light is almost staying on constantly. Seems like a ground somewhere but I have checked the soldering and cables at both ends. I need some help here if anything please. I need my tunes BAD!!! Either the amp has gone bad or you have a blown speaker or a wiring issue.  First try another speaker connected to the amp and see if it will come on.  If so, it's not the amp.  Disconnect the speakers from the amp and test each wire to ground.  If you read any resistance other than high off scale you have a grounded speaker wire or a blown speaker.  Never run component speakers without using the crossover, by the way, as you can blow the tweeter very easily.Support the12volt.com
