Where to find out if underglow is illegal?

i asked at a local shop here in FL, and was told that as long as it's not blue (police) red (fire-rescue) or amber (caution), as long as the bulbs aren't visible at ride-height, it's legal.  but local laws differ by county, too, so the best bet is to use them locally if they are legal, and switch them off if you are on a trip. ;)

ya it makes sense you cant use those colors even though they would prolly look the best
