The fitting instructions for my Concept, Smartwindows and Intellistart all say to attach the main fused cable to the battery and also earth at the battery?

Prior to fitting this Clifford, my first, I have taken 12v pos from the fuse box and earthed at a convenient bolt to the body, never had a problem before. Does this mean I have been wiring wrong or are the Clifford instructions just being simplistic?

Any opinions?

Steve.

SmartWindows and Intellistart are both high current control devices. I would NEVER try to pull that kind of current from a fuse block. The smart option is to install as per the directions. Grounding to the chassis is OK, but the power NEEDS to be connected directly to the battery.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
