hello, i have a customer that wants a cd player and a pair of 6x9's installed in the doors....here's my first question, the cd player...i really don't feel like cutting the original radio peice (sure it might not be worth much...but it's still the original peice)  can i remove that and just clean out the hole to fit the new cd player or is there a dash kit of some kind to make it look nice?

and the doors..he wants 6x9's...location isn't going to be the greatest because they'll be firing into the seats...but it's where he wants them and the doors open ehind that spot...i'm wondering if anyone has put speakers in the doors and what kind of problems were involved...looks fairly straight forward with some cutting of the dash and doors  to make the proper hole...but i'd like to know for sure beofr i start.

We used to run old Ford F series work trucks, problem we found with the speakers in the doors was the hollow sound and the rattle of the window mechanism.  Best of luck with the install, the dash on those trucks is built like a bumper.
