I recently bought a Kicker 12 L7.

I want to build a ported box because I like deep bass for my 95 Jeep cherokee sport.

But there are a few issues!!  The Recommened Numbers for the Ported box are   2.5cu.FT+ port   /  2.5 x 13.25 port, 16.5" Long .

What do they mean by     2.5 x 13.25 port, 16.5" long.

I have  (2)   4 inch ports from another box I want to use, instead of  2.5'' ports ; Is that a good or bad Idea???

I NEED HELP SOMEBODY!!!!! ANYBODY!!!!!

I love Car Audio!

no no no, see the dimensions that are given are for slot ports. these ports are made from the mdf used on the box, basically they are rectangularly shaped from the ends. so this one is a prism of 2.5*13.5. that is 16.5 long. just make a hole in your box and make a slot port shudnt take more than 15 minutes.

talked to a Kicker tech. today and they gave me the same measurments for ports. I have 2 kicker L7 and he said that i would be able to hit 142-152dbs. Here are the measurments they gave me 46"w,18"d,15"h  including porte measurments. Each sub is going to have own chamber. Tuned at 38 peak of 57 but diff. car equals diff peak

But back to the topic If you divide the width by 2 you would have your measurment for your sub hope that helps

No it would not hit harder. When i was talking to the kicker tech. He said that was a bad idea. Reason is lets say you blow out a sub without noticing. Now that other sub is in a way to big of a box. Which resulting in another blown up sub. My amp is a Kx1200.1. Don't know with the Earthquake PHD2 what are the specs.
