I have a viper alarm in my car and sometimes the shock sensor is activated at night or in the early morning for no apparent reason.  My sensor is set at the highest level and it's affixed behind the glove compartment zipped tied to a wiring harness.  The other day the kids in my neighborhood bounce a ball about 15 feet away and my alarm went off.

I'm not sure if I have the viper 591xv or the 791xv.  Is there a difference in remotes?  My remote has the longer car pictured not the horizontal one.  If you get the other remote can you adjust the sensitivity of the sensor from the remote or do you have to change the sensor or security brains.

My brother has a viper alarm as well with the responder capability but he doesn't like to activate his alarm at night because it usually goes off in the morning.  My neighbor is a network administrator for the army and he has a 30' antenna in his backyard.  Do you think he could be sending a radio signal that interferes with our alarms?  My sister has another viper alarm without the transponder capability and it never goes off sporadically.

Thanks for your time.

The 591xv or 791xv could not adjust the impact sensor from the remote no matter what remote it uses. No your neighbor is not at fault. The problem is the sensor is simply adjusted too high and there is no telling what is triggering it. It could be another vehicle going by, thunder, airplane, someone's loud car stereo, or anything that you can here while you are inside the house. An alarm is only as good as the install and if it was installed correctly it would be adjusted correctly and Would Not False. I recomend taking it to your DEI dealer and paying them to adjust it and look over it to make sure everything is ok.
