I've installed a remote start in my 98 F150 with keyless entry. The remote start is working fine but I'm having a few problems with the door locks and re-arming the anti-theft.

1. The theft light goes out ok when remote started but will not come back on after the doors relock when the remote start times out. It will also not come on when the doors are locked using the remote start transmitter. (But it does with the factory one). The theft light will come on if the door is open and I lock it either manually or with either transmitter.

2. The dome light will not come on for the 30 second delay when unlocked with the remote start transmitter. (again it does with the factory one) Also both doors unlock with a single unlock from the remote start transmitter while the factory one requires a second unluck to open the passenger door.

I'm pullin my hair out here so if anyone can help out it would be appreciated. I've scoped every wire to the white box under the dash five or six times and just can't seem to figure it out!

In regards to the driver priority unlock that your factory remote has, does your remote starter have this as a feature? and if so did you hook it up?

And as far as the theft light, are you using your ground out when armed wire to trigger the bypass module, becasue if you are, then the car will sense the key in the ignition when armed.  And it might come on when you have the door open because it hasn't armed yet (I am not too sure about that one though).  Are you having trouble with your factory alarm, or just your theft light, because the theft light on the dash is just for the PATS immobilizer that reads the transponder in the key.

For your dome light to turn on with unlock from your new remote,  you need to trigger your dome light wire (Blk/lt.blue) for that feature to work as well. If you have a designated wire for this feature use it, or you can pulse the wire with your remote starter unlock wire using a relay.

If you have any more questions, let me know what type of starter unit you have.
