I'm in the process of installing my alarm in my car. On the manual it tells me that in order to program the alarm i have to turn the key to the "on" position, but I can't find what wire would be considered as a IGN input. On the (power) six pin harness I only hooked up the 2 main power wires. I didn't hook up the rest because the remote start feature is not going to be used.  What I'm I missing here? Do I still need to hook up the rest of the wires from the six pin connector? How does the alarm get a signal telling it that the car is on?

the alarm brain needs to see ignition input. if you don't have ignition hooked up, you will be able to set your alarm while it's driving, and you will always have multiple chirps after the alarm has been set off once. the prestige alarms are a nightmare. i installed one the other day.when they work iguess hey'reok, but thats when they work. the one i installed had a bad remote, so the customer who brought it in only got to have one remote with no paging.

You should hook up the Ignition Input wire, if not only for Valet or Programming, but to operate Alarm correctly
