I am going to run 2 amps. A JL 500/1 for my sub and a JL 300/4 for my componets. I am using a Eclipse CD 8454 which has separate outs for sub. Should I run two sets of rcas one to each amp. Or could I run one set and then run a set from one amp to the other? Will this limit my tuneability? Thanks.

You need 3 sets of RCA cables. 2 for the 300/4 1 for the 500/1.

i would run two back to the 300/4 so you can use fade and such at your head unit and then run a set out of the 300/4 into the 500/1

Why would he want to daisy chain off the 300/4 when his head unit has seperate sub out put. The head unit he is using is of Audiophile quality. Why limit its ability? RCA Question -- posted image.

Because if you tune your system correctly, you shouldn't need a sub-out and daisy chaining would be fine.

Yea but who doesnt want the tune ability of being able to tailor the sound from the head unit. and not via the amps.

And if the sub out wasnt needed why would most manufactures include them on all of their high end units?

I dont want to have to mess with the amps once they are set up since they will be mounted underneath my backseat in my Jeep. I want the ability to control everything from the headunit.

Also should I use a fans or fans since JL says that mounting vertically is :optimum and Horizontally is only:good. I finally read the book for the 300/4 and it recommends for best adjustability  connecting one pair to front input one to rear input and connecting the sub amp to the sub output. This way you can fade the front and rear HF channels and control the subwoffer level respectively. Sometimes it pays to read. I guess thats what the manual is for lol.

You shouldnt have a problem with over heating. unless the airflow to the amps is really limited.
