I am installting remote stater on Chevy 2003 S10. But this remote starter doesn not have the tach detect wire. It only provide voltage detecting. Anybody know which wire is the generator wire that generates 12V after engine is starting?

Thanks

Battery 12 Volt Canstant ( + )
Some RS have you get it at the Alternator.
Usually you can hook it in to the Constant 12 Volt ( + )
It just picks up the varying voltage from the Alternetor as it charges your battery

No,  I am sure "Battery 12 Volt Canstant ( + )" is the wrong wire. It wont crank next attemp if the engine is not start.

As you the R/S CRANKS the engine the voltage drops & when Started & Running the Voltage Increases ...DUH

But if it is not start, there is still 12V on "Battery 12 Volt Canstant ( + )", so the alarm will think the engine is start successfully. Then it wont try the next attemp cranking.

Love it when people ask a question then tell you the answer (wrong I might add).. Had I guy do this to me at my work. He was fired shortly there after for it.
I have a S10 Blazer with voltage sense at the ign column. When my fuel pump died the R/S knew the truck didn't start and attempted 2 more times(3 attempts for the model Omega alarm). Never tried to double start prior to failure of pump.
Also why is it so hard to include the alarm model/make?

Do as you were told, the 12v constant at the alt is the best place to connect. the r/s needs to see a change in voltage and your s10 will go to about 10v during start then the alt will go to about 14v and that is what the r/s is looking for not 0v then 12v. P.S Mo12v wants to know the name or model of the r/s your installing and so do I.

My question is that I dont know which wire is the 12v constant at alt. I only know where the tach wire is. And I am not so familier with electrical parts in car.

On the REAR of your Altenantor there is 1 10 guage RED wire that is Constant all the time.....Hook your wire there or some unit will pick up at the Ignition Switch where you should have your other wires connected

If you UNABLE to understand .........Take it to your LOCAL 12 volt Install shop
