600 grit maybe.....

what i typically do is glass thick enough that i wont be able to sand through it, angle grind anything i dont want to spend 12 hours sanding, but typically i try to glass it to almost the exact shape i want. Then after grinding off the nubs, sand up to 150, clean, slap on the body filler (i use rage extreme) sand the body filler up to 320 grit, clean again, shoot the whole thing with high build primer because it shaves a lot of minute sanding off the job, let that dry, wet sand that with 320 -600, reshoot if there are any spots you can see filler on, wet sand again if necessary, then paint.

do you apply the fiberglass right over top of the vinyl and the foam on the door or do you strip it off and just build build build with the glass until it is the desired thickness.
