#1.    I used to own a 15" GTi JBL sub and a Audiobahn Alum12Q sub. I hooked both of these up to a BP1200.1. They worked fine for about 6-9 months. I got tired of the constant headlight and int . light dimming os I bought a PowerAcoustik 2 Farad Cap to try to slim down the dimming. Unfortunatly, this ended up screwing me over. Now both subs sound like crap (compared to how the used to). The 15 GTi is the only one that i sitll have hooked up and it's only putting out about half power (i would leave it unhooked, but i have to maintain some kindof bump!). The audiobahn just sounds like crap. Does anyone have any ideas to what could have happend?

#2. I just bought two DUB1200's from a friend for $150 brand new. I'm planning on building a ported box according to the "everyday ported" specs on audiobahns web-site. Does anyone know is the BP1200.1 will be able to put out enough power? Can it handle the stable 1-ohm load these subs require? If so, will it blow them like it did the others? Or did the CAP do the damage? I just need help before i bust four subs in a month period. Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Jason

just get rid of the cap and look for a alternator. and if the spec's for the amp don't state 1 ohm stable. its not going to run at 1 ohm with out damaging the amp . you can get 2 ohm loads from that sub 1 or 4 .4 will be much better for SQ

What do you mean "you can get 2 ohm loads from that sub 1 or 4"  So, with two of these subs I can run at either One or Four ohms? The JBL only puts out 600x1 RMS at 4 Ohms... Would that be enough? I ran the GTi and ALUMQ at 3 ohms, cuz they're dual 6, but hte amp doesnt state a 3 ohm stability or anything? I'm just confused!

I might try to sell the JBL sub and amp at school... Does anyone have a price suggestion? All the people i would sell to have no earthly idea what a good/bad price is on car audio, so just some suggestion from an experienced perosn in car audio would be appriciated! I was thinking like $150-200 for amp and same for sub?

Also, if i sell the amp, what is a good amp that at 4 ohms puts out at least 500W RMS to each sub? Will the JBL BP1200.1 that i already have do that?
