Interesting. Sounds like you've got it working OK. Tomorrow I'm gonna hook up the reverse correctly and see if that may have been a problem, and perhaps try more wires to see if I get the right one. I know this is an issue with both Frontiers and XTerras and if we get it nailed down it would help a lot of people.
Thanks for all your help...

I was going to use the speed pulse generator until I figured out what it was.  Basically you have to magnetize half of your rear tire and place the module in the back of the car close as possible to the tire.  Then you have to de-magnetize and re-magnetize your tire every couple months or whenever you had your tired rotated.  I wasn't about to do that.  It was either the VSS or it was going back.

If you can't figure it out by sunday, I'll pull it out and tell you exactly which one it is.  It's a world of difference.  I had an '04 Acura TL with Navigation and said I would never get another car without it.  I basically bought my X, stopped by the stereo shop on the way home and tore it apart when I got there.  THis system is better than the one in the Acura now as far as accuracy.

Well...I spent all day today taking the car apart and re-running wires. I put the nav module in the compartment in the back. Everything's nice and hidden, it all looks great.
Never found a working speed wire. I'm afraid my harness might be different from yours since I didn't have the RF stereo. The only black wire on the harness seems to be the left rear speaker negative. I don't have a second black wire on the harness. If you could tell me which plug (large or small) and which location you tapped into, I'd appreciate it...otherwise I might have to pay a shop to install the signal generator...
