I have heard 2 very diffent places and wanted your gys opinions

1 place said to mount the shock sensor on a bundle of wires under the dash and avoid metal since it dampens the shocks.

another said find a piece of metal in the dash and mount it.

so what would you prefer?

I usually place mine against the steering column and wire tie it in place.  Or any other solid metal stucture in the dash.  Brian

The steering column or firewall are the most common and will work well in most applications. I think it really depends what type of shock sensor you have. Since there are many types of mechanisms being used, they will all act a little different. Either mounting method should work fine as long as you use a large solid wiring harness if going that route.
