Will this be an ok SQ setup...

  • 2 Infinity Perfect 12 VQ subwoofers (75-400W RMS power range, svc, 4 ohm impedance, 23-400Hz frequency response)
  • Kenwood Excelon KDC-X689 head unit (22W RMS x4 channels,  10-20000Hz CD frequency response,  3 RCA preamp outputs, 5 volt RCA outputs, subwoofer RCA output, CD changer controls)
  • Kenwood Excelon KDC-CX87 CD changer (10 disc, 5-20000Hz frequency response)
  • Audiobahn A8000T mono amplifier to power the subs at 2 ohms (800Wx1 at 2 ohms, 10-40000Hz frequency response)
  • Infinity Kappa 32.7cf dash speakers (2-way, 3 1/2", 2-35W RMS power range, 2 ohm impedance, 85-25000Hz frequency response)
  • Infinity Kappa 63.7i front door speakers (3-way, 6 1/2", 2-75W RMS power range, 2 ohm impedance, 45-25000Hz frequency response)
  • Infinity Kappa 693.7i rear deck speakers (3-way, 6"x9", 2-110W RMS power range, 2 ohm impedance, 35- 25000Hz frequency response)

If you have any suggestions, recommendations, or comments feel free to respond.  All input of any sort is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Audiobahn A4004T 4-channel amplifier to power the 6 1/2" and 6"x9" speakers (100Wx4 at 2 ohms, 10-40000Hz frequency response)

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

Yes, get rid of the Audiobahn and their drastically inflated power rating. Knock that power claim on the amps down by at least 60% to get closer to what they really put out. If you like chrome plated crap with flames, go for it, all the power to ya. If you want some good gear....look to better gear. Just say no to Audiobahn and Sony.

I agree with the hit to audiobahn....i have had nothing but bad luck....ASPECIALLY with the 4004t. I tried installing it into a 2003 impala using the highlow converter supplied with the amp, and the darn thing couldnt even pull enough signal to puch through the speakers. After swapping it out for a kicker with another high low, the thing sounded great! If you plan on giving your front 6 1/2's roughly a 100watts just go with components up front. You could go with the infinity kappas60.7cs and sound a lot better in m/o. They will also sound a hell of a lot better with those 6x9's uve got piked out! those are sum bad speakers right there i love em! As for the kenwood stuff, i dont know too much about it, but let me know what ya think! good luck

Aint no problem with the kenwood gear you got man. I fit kenwood and infinity all day everyday and the 6X9's are very nice. And those 3" too are very impressive. I have fit those same speakers into widebody camry (not sure if you got that model in states, im in australia). 3's in front doors(customer was adamant that was all he was going to need) and surprisingly sounded nice even off his old ass clarion amp. But yeah, your system sounds like a good start.

Thanks for the input, but what amps do you recommend?

since your running mostly infinity gear, i'd prob check out infinity amps as well, they've got some good sub amps and such...my only question is the audiobahn amp is a mono amp, and your running it for subs, then why do they say it'll handle 10 - 40 000 hz...what kind of  stupid rating is that?? it's great if you want your neighbors dog to listen to it and your running a ton of tweeters for your subs....that kinds of crazy ratings would make a person really question the output potential of those amps. or at least it does for me.  but i recomened going with some matched infinity amps for your system.

Ditch the 3" and 6x9s and get a good component 61/2" set. I would also recommend ditching the audiobahn amps. I have had good luck with JBL and Memphis amp, the watts to price ratio on both is quite good.

I've only heard bad things about Infinity amps so I am going to stay away from them.  Should i stick with the stock 3 /12" speakers and upgrade to a pair of component 6 1/2" speakers?  What would be better and how much would that add to installation difficulty?

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.
