Can anyone confirm if a remote start is possible on this vehicle? I have heard conflicting stories about the difficulty of installing a remote start on the X5's (and BMW's in general). If it is possible, is there an interface (DEI, etc..) required for the starter to work with the factory alarm. I'm looking to install a compustar 2 way model, just the starter portion, not the alarm. Any info on what bypass modules, tips, wiring diagrams, etc.. would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for the help!

If you find a tech sheet for this beast....use a factory transponder ring for the extra key needed for remote start. They work perfect every time.

Thanks for the info! I do have wiring info. Are you aware if I'll need to bypass the factory alarm when installing the remote starter?

Thanks again.

I have NO info on the rig..... sorry. what type of wiring info do you have. Doesn't it tell how to bypass or override factory security?
