Currently
Head unit: Dual xdm6820 200watt
Front speakers: stock
Rear speakers: X-plod xs-1330A 180watt peak
Amp: pyramid 1600 watt
Subs: 2 12'' kicker 250watt
I'm wondering where should i go from here. The subs are weak and I think the speakers are producing most of the bass. The subs are used and they sat in a storage outside facility for a couple of months. On the other hand when I turn up the volume (especially the bass) the front speakers begin to click instead of the producing the thump of the bass. Ideas on what to improve?

Not to rag on you or anything, but everything could be upgraded to better stuff. I'd start with a new hu and front/rear speakers. Then work your way up afterwards. What kind of car is this stuff going in and what's your budget?

Ya I know. I drive a 1986 toyota celica. I'm 18 and still in school and only work one day a week, so my budget is a couple hundred dollars max to spend on my car.

I would start with a better head unit.

I'd get rid of the stock front speakers first (they are the most important speakers to proper sound.)  And DON'T replace them with Sony!  Then ditch the crap HU as quickly as you can.

Sell your front speakers, subs and amp, and get new front coaxial speakers and a 4 channel amp.

Who DIDN'T see that coming? How 'bout a show of hands?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
