My friend got a 2005 Chevrolet Classic. What exactly is a chevrolet classic (Malibu?), and where can I find a wiring diagram for the vehicle?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the car, or is it the same as a Malibu?

After looking around, it seems that this car is the old style Malibu that GM has keept as a fleet vehicle. It is a 2005 but it is not found on the regular Chevrolet website. It is on their fleet vehicle website. Would this vehicle have the same wiring as a new Malibu or an older one?

aaronU, you have it correct.
The basically kept the old Malibu around to use as a rental car.
I believe the wiring on the Malibu was the same right from its introduction in 1997 up to 2003-----they re-used it as the Classic to save money----I don't see any reason they would make it different.
I'm not sure what you're installing, but when you pull out the radio to get your ignition wires, the best/easiest place to get parking lights is brown, positive trigger, at the back of the radio.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm going to install a remote start. I'll look on the 1997-2003 diagram and pull the radio for the ignition wires.
A question that is off topic (and does not matter for the install), but how does the steering wheel lock work. When the key is on the column, it is mechanical. Is it electrical now that the key in on the dash? Just curious.

I would imagine that I would need to use the starter wire like on the older models as opposed to not using the starter wire like on the new vehicles.
Any thoughts?
