Is there any alternitive to the stock 2-way remote. I prefer the buttons on the top on down the side.

No, you'll have to buy a different brand if you want the buttons on the side.
Why do you prefer one over the other?

simply because with buttons on the bottom there is not much to hold onto while useing it. With them on the top or side you can have a full grip, and for some reason bottom button remotes always seem to activate in my pocket unless of course it has a button lock. It's just a prefrence.

I found that with my old 790XV remotes the buttons were getting pressed alot inadvertantly. Just a poor design. I changed to the 791XV remotes and the buttons don't stick out and I don't remember hitting them by accident since.
