Hi everyone, maybe you guy's can help. I just purchased some Pioneer 6 X 9 3-way speakers for the rear deck. The factory speakers have 2 set's of wires going to the speakers. The new speakers only have 2 terminals. Can anyone help me out with installing these?? Thanks for the help..

The factory amp does the crossover duties, so one set of wires will be for low frequecies and the other high. That means that speakers will not be a simple add-on. I recommend leaving the rears alone until you can upgrade the head unit and front speakers first. Then you'll need to rewire from the radio back to your rear speakers.

Duhh I forgot to mention I did upgrade the head unit a while ago it is an Alpine CDE 7858. The system works ok, but I wanted to upgrade and of course my luck it is not so easy. I have six factory speakers in the car tweeters, set in the front doors I think they are 4" and the 6 X 9 in the rear deck. If that helps at all.

Depending on the speakers you purchased, you can add new 6x9's to the rear deck. If your new speakers have the leads for the tweeters exposed on the outside of the magnet, you can cut those at the terminals and tie into those separately from the woofer. The 2 sets of wires running to your stock speakers are high passed and low passed. Once you find out which is which, you can hook them up to you new speakers.

The new speakers are Pioneer TS-A6961R 6X9. I looked at the speakers and there is 1 terminal with 2 leads. One for pos and one for neg. There are 2 set's of wires that are soldered to the terminal block. I have a picture of it but it is too large to insert into this message.
