Hey,  anyone done a starter on  a new jetta,  the wiring is the small gauge ignition wires coming parallel w/ to column.  i couldn't find any tech that was even close,  all the info was for the traditional vw style wiring.  finally i rounded up an autostart tech diagram w/ pics that was for the same vehicle.  however it didn't say anything about the clutch style or wires.  i cant easily find the wiring off the clutch bypass switch tho.  the clutch assembly seems to be sealed and runs through the firewall and cant see on the engine side either.   its not any of the relays on the bottom side of dash either like the older ones. the tech never gave me diesel tach eithe but  i found that.  any help would be awesome.  i walked the car about a week ago do to nothing for data or tech info.  finally got the autostart..  tried dei, astro, and techweb (crimestopper).  before i get the customer back i want to figure out the clutch.  i looked awhile the first time it was here.

thanks alot

chris

Have you tried just remote starting the VW without a bypass for the clutch. I haven't worked on the new ones yet, but I know with some VW's you don't have to have a bypass for the clutch, it will start for you.

I have an 06 Jetta TDI 5speed.
I will not be worrying about such things, I have a secret.
DEI is making a CAN-BUS interface module.
this thing is SLICK, has tach/door/hood/trunk outputs, input for lock/arm/unlock/disarm, trunk pop, gas pop, comfort closure, RAP, independant front and rear window roll down, output for + shutdown that works when it see's brake, no parkbreak and motion (VSS).
I am the guinea pig I guess in Canada, I will be letting people know what happens for sure.

Bastard.... I was supposed to be getting one..... Mind you, I did tell the rep to get one over to you when he was asking me if I wanted one.
Currently jamming one of these 785XV's into my car right now. Kinda nice piece, and cheap as hell!

Got it today, Installing a viper 3000 with an old 551U for RS.
when done I will have windows up and down, (indepndant front and rear down) trunk and gas release.
I am forgoeing such things as headlight activation and such, but the coolest thing is if I don't need to remote start, the OEM remote controls the viper alarm.
