First of all I would like to thank everyone on this forum for your post help and knowledge of fiberglassing. You have all been a great help to me within these past few months. I have been reading these post over and over because well I love glassing. I really need some advice concerning fiberglass. The issue is that I want to put bolts that will go to a spoiler I have customized with glass. I want to use glass to keep the bolts in place to mount the spoiler to the trunk of the vehicle. Is this possible ? In case you are wondering it is a 01 Mitsubishi Eclipse. PS I don't have access to a cam yet so I wont be able to post pics anytime soon. Thanks to all whom could help me in this situation

What you can do is get a metal plate ( dimensions will vary according to the area that the spoiler has on the bottom ) and drill the two holes where you want the bolt to pass through. Once you have this plate, pass the bolt through so that the threads are facing down and then begin fiberglassing this plate to the bottom of the spoiler. Make sure that you have about 4-5 layers of glassing on this to ensure that it doesn't go anywhere.

What I have always done is weld 2 or 3 nuts on a metal plate and then FG it in the bottom of the spoiler so that to can run the bolts in from the bottom. It leaves it as a much cleaner install and will allow the 2 or 3 nuts to lock in together.
