how to test the ground with a DMM?

Can any of you guys provide a diagram of how to test the ground with a DMM? I dont really understand where you put the meters probes and the wire form the battery negative confusing me? Or a link to show me how to do it .

test between the wire you grounded and another bare metal ground spot. the best is to run a jumper wire to the neg side of the battery. the meter should read 0 ohm's.

ah i get it so one end of the probe to the area or bolt you want  to ground it to and the other end of the probe to the jumper cable to your battery neg?

yup, but it should probably read like .01 ohms or what ever, , not 0 because its nearly impossible.  as long as its not near or over 1 ohm
