Hey I own a 1992 Ford Escort GT and have purchased a DHD Power Cruiser NTX-8024 In Dash Car Cd Player. I have taken out the old player, attached the power wires to the new ones, and am now in the process of getting the speaker wires attached.
For one thing, I do not have any idea which wire is which as I am without a diagram. Also, there is a major problem. When I tried to attach the wires by hit and miss, none of them work for any speakers. I have directly attached the speakers to the player, they work. I have checked continuity on the speakers to the dash wires, and all but one shows continutity.
I am at a loss here and would really apreciate any help that you could offer.
Thanks ahead of time.

did you cut the plug off? definitely the wrong move. use a test light or a multimeter to find the constant12v, switched12v and ground. since there is no plug you may have to rerun each speaker wire. if im not mistaken it is an amplified system.

you can use a 9v battery to find speaker wires on a nonamped system. when you find the 2 wires to a particular speaker it will pop.

Yes I cut the factory plugs. Bummer. Anyway, I found the ground, and two hots pretty easy. The amplified system may explain why I can't use this new in dash with the current wires. How can I find out if it's amplified? Where is the amp mounted?
I've ohmed out all the "speaker" wires and I suspect it is an amp system. Better buy some more wire........
Thanks

check behind the carpet on the drivers side in the trunk area for an amp.
