I am in the process of building some passive crossovers. I just wanted to double check to see if this correct... to get a desired capacitor value u can parallel two capacitors to add the values. I want to get a value of 5.4 uF. So taking a 5.1 uF capacitor and a 0.3 uF will get me a 5.4 uF capacitor when they are parallel. Correct? And two coil inductors in series allows those values to be added. Correct?

correct.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
