Compustar 1W900FM-S not starting!

Yeah, I've got them in front of me, for menu 1 it's lock and unlock for 2 seconds. For menu two it's lock and start for 2 seconds. Then press the start putton the number of times that correspond to the option to change. I can only get to option 3 before it kicks me out. Menu 2 doesn't even respond with the single flash.
But that's all secondary now, the unit doesn't even power on. All fuses are intact, all wires are still connected to what they should be, the car still starts by key. It just shut down forever after the chime started working (there IS an internal chime, right?)

The chime wasn't the "key off, lights on" warning, was it? That would normally ding when the parking lights get pulsed by the alarm unit-

Nope, since the chime did not continue to sound when the unit was started and the parking lights were on. I'm about 95% sure it was coming from the CompuStar unit.
Hell, maybe that's the sound relays make when they're dying, I don't know.
